Principal for Human Resources, Partner
As Principal for Human Resources, my role is to manage and oversee the firm’s human resources and policies. What I truly enjoy about my role is to have the opportunity to facilitate the individual growth and development of each employee to help them realize success to their fullest potential. Whether through our mentorship or professional development programs, our goal is for each individual to contribute to project teams to help create the best possible results. I thrive on building positive relationships and I believe positive relationships drive successful collaboration which is the backbone of our firm’s success.
As Principal for Environmental Responsibility, I lead our sustainable design and business practices and our commitment to creating healthy, energy-efficient facilities. In my role as project Principal, I work with school districts, colleges and universities to plan and create successful learning environments that are unique to the goals of each community. I lead project teams in their efforts to fulfill our clients’ goals, while helping team members build capabilities to achieve their own professional goals. The most rewarding element of our work for me is creating design solutions that are customized to meet the unique needs of our clients, instead of repeating a signature or style. I enjoy helping our clients and communities define, achieve and transcend their goals.
Community is integrally important to the architecture of learning environments. The most successful learning facilities are created through collaboration with their communities, and in turn, provide places that improve, inspire and strengthen the communities they serve. I have seen students’ lives transformed through education and I engage in organizations that support students of all ages, especially Foundations at colleges and school districts. I have served as a Board member on the Clover Park Technical College Foundation Board for several years and am currently the Board President. It is a constant reminder that the meaning of our work is to support students and help them to be successful.
I enjoy playing music with friends and, while I’ve had a long and rewarding career in architecture, I still hold out hope of one day reaching “rock star” status. My band is currently on break but I’m sure we’re destined for a reunion tour someday.
